Morocco’s National Agency for Aquaculture Development (ANDA) has approved 300 MAD million (around $30 million) in two funding programs to make aquaculture a key part of its blue economy, according to converging media reports.
The two programs are part of a national plan to make the aquaculture area more competitive and create diverse income opportunities.
ANDA stated that the funds will support innovative projects, improve infrastructure, and help private investors set up new aquaculture farms.
Aquaculture has grown significantly in recent years thanks to proactive government policies.
According to ANDA, these investments will meet the rising demand for aquaculture products while ensuring strict environmental standards are followed.
The projects aim to enhance Morocco’s maritime resources by building a sustainable and competitive economy that protects marine ecosystems.
