The UK government has issued a warning to its citizens against traveling to Algeria, citing security concerns, including the risk of terror attacks.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has advised against all travel within 30 kilometers of Algeria’s borders with Libya, Tunisia, Mauritania, Mali, and Niger.
While no travel warnings have been issued for Morocco, the FCDO reminded citizens that the borders between the Kingdom and Algeria remain closed and advised against any attempts to cross them.
The FCDO’s advisory for Algeria also highlighted the risks of crime, including pickpocketing, robbery, and petty theft, particularly in the country’s largest cities.
