TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation has installed solar systems at five Safran facilities in Morocco, delivering 2,400 MWh of renewable energy annually, according to a statement from TotalEnergies earlier this week.
Safran, a company specializing in aerospace and defense, strengthens its commitment to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency through this initiative.
TotalEnergies installed 2,600 solar panels across the sites, which now generate 30% of the facilities’ yearly electricity needs. This transition saves approximately 1,700 metric tons of CO₂ annually. The company handled the system’s design, installation, and commissioning to ensure long-term reliability and optimal energy performance.
“This project with Safran showcases our commitment to delivering reliable, sustainable energy solutions to businesses in Morocco,” said Hamady SY, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Renewables Distributed Generation Middle East & Africa.
Nathalie Stubler, Safran’s Group Director of Sustainable Development, echoed his sentiment. “We are proud to collaborate with TotalEnergies on this fully operational solar panel project. This initiative underscores our global strategy to reduce our carbon footprint and enhance energy efficiency at our sites in Morocco.”
