Ryanair has expanded its network with a new route connecting Madrid and Dakhla, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported. Flights are scheduled to run twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The first flight on new the route landed at Dakhla Airport on Wednesday, carrying Moroccan expatriates and international tourists. The development follows a memorandum of understanding between Ryanair and Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT).
The new route boosts Ryanair’s position as a key partner for ONMT, joining Royal Air Maroc, Binter Canarias, and Transavia in offering international connections to Dakhla.
The President of the Provincial Tourism Council of Oued Eddahab, Othmane Aâmar, highlighted the enhanced connectivity the route brings to Dakhla. With an additional connection to Lanzarote, it is expected to double Dakhla Airport’s international capacity to nearly 47,000 seats, as Spain becomes the top international market for Dakhla.
