Morocco’s Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi met with Denmark’s Ambassador to Morocco Berit Basse on Wednesday to discuss deepening judicial collaboration between the two countries.
The talks focused on bolstering cooperation mechanisms to combat transnational crime, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
Basse commended the “outstanding quality” of existing judicial cooperation, expressing her gratitude to Moroccan authorities for their swift action in apprehending a key suspect in a high-profile Danish criminal case.
“Moroccan police arrested the suspect in Tangier following an official request from Denmark, demonstrating the efficacy of international judicial coordination,” she said.
Ouahbi highlighted Morocco’s unwavering commitment to fighting impunity and upholding its international obligations. He noted the arrest as a testament to Morocco’s determination to address transnational crime while ensuring accountability and justice.
During the meeting, Ouahbi reaffirmed Morocco’s readiness to enhance judicial security and promote fair justice in collaboration with Denmark. The discussions underscored shared values and goals, aiming to strengthen partnerships in combating crime and advancing justice systems in both nations.
