A massive fire erupted Sunday evening in a forest on the outskirts of the northern city of Tetouan, consuming large swathes of trees and vegetation. Local authorities and civil protection teams rushed to the area after receiving reports of the fire.
Firefighting crews deployed water cannons to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby areas. But strong winds fueled the flames, making it harder for responders to contain the blaze, according to witnesses.
As of now, the cause of the fire is unknown. Officials have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the blaze.
