Renowned American filmmaker Christopher Nolan has chosen Morocco as a key filming location for his upcoming project “The Odyssey,” according to media reports.
Universal Pictures has described the adaptation of Homer’s classic poem as a “mythic action epic shot across the world.”
Production will also take place in the UK and Italy, but the inclusion of Morocco hopes to add a significant dimension to the film’s aesthetic.
Morocco has long been a favored destination for filmmakers seeking dramatic and exotic backdrops. Previously, The country hosted productions like “Gladiator” and “Dune.”
The film boasts an all-star cast that includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Charlize Theron.
While details about their roles remain under wraps, speculation continues about how Nolan will approach the story—whether it will stay true to its ancient roots or take on a more modern or fantastical spin.
Nolan’s timeline for the project is tight, with filming scheduled to conclude in April to meet its summer 2026 release. Nolan is known for blockbusters like Inception and Oppenheimer.
The Odyssey is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2026.
