Burkina Faso’s armed forces launched an operation at the start of the year, neutralizing at least 30 terrorists in a forest near the country’s western border with Mali, according to the Burkina Faso News Agency.
Dubbed “Zero Terrorist in Solenzo,” the operation involved the 18th Rapid Intervention Battalion and civilian Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland.
Troops stormed the Solenzo Forest, eliminating the terrorists and seizing equipment, including motorcycles and mobile phones.
Since 2015, Burkina Faso has faced relentless terrorist violence, claiming countless lives and displacing thousands of residents in the West African country.
