Morocco is rapidly emerging as a key destination for Indian cotton yarn exports, reaching USD 33.53 million in 2023, according to United Nations data.
Figures from global export “Volza” platform showed that from March 2023 to February 2024, India shipped over 2,300 cotton yarn consignments to Morocco, facilitated by more than 100 Indian exporters and directed to nearly 450 Moroccan buyers.
Morocco has become one of the top global destinations for Indian cotton yarn, reflecting India’s broader strategy to diversify its export markets. This surge in cotton yarn exports to Morocco is part of a larger trend of growing textile and cotton yarn exports from India, particularly to markets such as the US and Argentina.
This shift underscores Morocco’s importance as a strategic trade partner in the textile sector and signals the increasing integration of African markets into the global cotton trade.
