A Tesla Cybertruck filled with fuel canisters and firework mortars exploded in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Wednesday, killing the driver and injuring seven people.
Authorities believe the explosive materials were connected to a detonation system controlled by the driver, CNN reported.
The FBI is currently investigating the incident to determine if it was a terrorist act, Jeremy Schwartz, acting special agent in charge for the FBI’s Las Vegas office, told CNN on Wednesday.
The explosion was an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public, according to The FBI.
McMahill said on Wednesday night that there was one dead individual inside the Cybertruck, where the body is being held until investigators continue their investigation.
The explosion injured seven people, all of whom are in stable condition, according to Deputy Fire Chief Billy Samuels, CNN reported.
