Morocco’s Meteorological Agency warned Sunday that snowfall, a cold wave, and locally heavy thunderstorms will affect various regions of the country from Sunday through Wednesday.
The Directorate issued an orange-level weather alert, advising that mountainous areas above 1,800 meters could experience snow accumulations between 15 and 35 centimeters. Affected provinces include Azilal, Tinghir, Al Haouz, and Ouarzazate.
Lighter snowfalls, ranging from five to ten centimeters, are expected in Midelt, Taroudant, Beni Mellal, and Ifrane from Sunday to Monday.
Temperatures in the provinces of Boulemane, Midelt, Ifrane, Beni Mellal, Azilal, Al Haouz, Tinghir, Figuig, and Ouarzazate are expected to range from -5°C to 10°C between Sunday and Wednesday.
Heavy thunderstorms are also expected in Youssoufia, Rehamna, Marrakech, El Kelâa des Sraghna, Chichaoua, Settat, Khouribga, Benslimane, and Fquih Ben Salah. Rainfall of 15 to 30 millimeters is anticipated between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM on Sunday.
