The year 2024 concludes on a high note for Morocco’s Ayoub El Kaabi, a prolific striker for the Greek club Olympiacos has emerged as the leading scorer in UEFA interclub competitions for the calendar year, sports media reported.
With 15 goals—11 in the UEFA Conference League and four in the Europa League—El Kaabi comfortably outperformed notable players such as Harry Kane (Bayern Munich, nine goals), Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha (FC Barcelona, nine goals each), and Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid, nine goals).
El Kaabi also ranks second in the overall scoring chart across all UEFA competitions, tied with Harry Kane. The top spot has been awarded to Sweden’s Viktor Gyökeres, who has scored five goals in the Champions League this season, two in last year’s Europa League, and nine in the Nations League.
Earlier this year, the former Wydad Casablanca (WAC) and Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RSB) forward was named the Best Foreign Player in the Greek Super League. His recognition followed a stellar 2023-2024 season, where he finished as the league’s top scorer with 15 goals.
This season, El Kaabi continues to dominate, leading the scoring charts with 11 goals so far, further solidifying his status as one of the most prolific strikers in European football.
