Weather forecasts indicate that significant snowfall ranging from 10 to 40 centimeters is expected across areas of elevation higher than 1,500 meters in several Moroccan provinces beginning Saturday and through to Monday, according to Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
Heavy snow (20-40 cm) is forecast in the provinces of Midelt, Azilal, Beni Mellal, Tinghir, Al Haouz, and Ouarzazate, as indicated in a level orange weather alert issued by the DGM on Thursday.
Lighter snow (10-20 cm) is anticipated during the same period in the provinces of Ifrane, Chichaoua, Taroudant, and Boulemane, according to the same source.
