Morocco has set anti-dumping duties on electric ovens imported from Turkey, following an investigation into the impact of rising imports, with the duties applying to non-built-in, portable ovens with a capacity of no more than 70 liters, classified under tariff code 8516.60.00.11.
The country’s Administration of Customs and Indirect Taxes (ADII) has set anti-dumping rates at 32.82% for the Turkish company İtimat and 71.43% for other producers and exporters.
Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and Trade found that the surge in imports harmed local production, with a direct link between the rise in Turkish electric ovens and financial losses for Moroccan manufacturers. The investigation revealed a significant increase in imports between January 2019 and June 2023.
The final report and official announcement, DDC/12/2024, are now available for public consultation.
The decision highlights Morocco’s commitment to protecting its industries from unfair trade practices.
