Morocco’s Managem Group has successfully completed an acquisition of the Karita gold exploration project in Guinea from Canadian company IAMGOLD, according to a company news release.
In addition to the Karita project, Managem has received two new exploration permits, “Doumou” and “Diagana,” for operations located in close proximity to the Karita asset, thereby enhancing its development potential in the region.
This follows Managem’s acquisition in April 2023 of IAMGOLD’s stakes in Senegal, which included a 90% interest in the Boto gold project and 100% of the company’s exploration interests in the country.
With this new acquisition, Managem, already established in Guinea through the Tri-K project, is further strengthening its strategic position in West Africa. The Moroccan mining group currently operates in eight countries in Africa.
