Morocco’s King Mohammed VI landed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Thursday on what is being called a “private” visit. No details as to the reason or how long he will stay have been released from the palace.
Morocco and the UAE have had a deep-rooted partnership that has evolved over the years, marked by high-level visits, agreements, royal vacations, and collaborative projects. The two nations have supported each other on key regional and international issues, from security and economic development to climate change, technological innovation, and territorial integrity.
King Mohammed VI’s official visit to the UAE in December 2023 was particularly significant when it coincided with the COP28 summit in Dubai. During that visit, King Mohammed VI and President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan signed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to strengthen economic and bilateral relations. Those agreements formed the basis for ongoing economic collaboration between Morocco and the UAE and enhanced cooperation in critical areas such as energy, investment, infrastructure, and data centers.
