Morocco and Egypt are working to strengthen economic and industrial ties by opening Moroccan markets to Egyptian-made military products during a meeting held on Wednesday in Cairo.
The meeting was held between Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production, Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa, and Ahmed Nihad, Egypt’s Ambassador to Morocco, discussions centered on expanding investment opportunities and fostering collaboration between the two nations.
Mostafa expressed interest in opening Moroccan markets to Egyptian-made military and civilian products, boosting Egyptian exports, and attracting Moroccan investments into Egypt.
“Our goal is to leverage Morocco’s strategic position as a gateway to North Africa and Europe to expand economic opportunities,” he noted, inviting Moroccan technical delegations to visit Egypt’s production units and explore potential partnerships.
Ambassador Nihad commended Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production for its dual focus on military and civilian manufacturing, which positions it as a cornerstone of Egypt’s industrial strategy.
He highlighted the strong economic ties and shared values between Morocco and Egypt, describing them as a foundation for deeper bilateral cooperation.
“I will actively encourage Moroccan investors and business leaders to explore opportunities with Egypt’s production units,” the Ambassador Nihad stated, adding that fostering collaboration between Moroccan and Egyptian companies will enhance the already robust relationship between the two nations.
