Iraq’s National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji reaffirmed its country’s unwavering support for Morocco’s territorial integrity, including the Sahara region on Monday in Rabat.
In a joint press conference on Monday with Morocco’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita, Al-Araji stated, “Iraq’s position is steadfast in its full support for Morocco’s territorial unity regarding the Sahara issue.”
The Iraqi official described the relations between the two countries as “historic and strategic,” highlighting the strong solidarity between them.
Bourita praised Iraq’s support for Morocco’s stability and prosperity, noting it was the first Arab country to recognize Morocco’s independence in 1956.
Ahead of the upcoming Arab League summit in Iraq, Bourita expressed Morocco’s support for the preparations, stating, “The Baghdad summit will be a key milestone in addressing the transformations in the Arab world.”
