The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, on Sunday applauded Morocco’s support under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for the Palestinian people.
During a meeting in Ramallah with Morocco’s ambassador to Palestine, Abdel Rahim Meziane, Hussein expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s efforts in defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinians and highlighted the strong and enduring ties between the Moroccan and Palestinian peoples.
Hussein highlighted the challenging conditions facing Palestinians, particularly in Jerusalem and its holy sites, amid Israel’s longstanding and ongoing violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported. He urged the international community to take action to halt attacks against Palestinians.
Ambassador Meziane reaffirmed Morocco’s “unwavering commitment” to supporting Palestine. He underscored King Mohammed VI’s efforts to secure ceasefires in Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to the residents of both Gaza and Jerusalem.
