A 4.9 magnitude earthquake struck the province of Chlef, 206 km to the southwest of Algiers, early Monday morning, according to media reports.
The earthquake occurred at 01:09 am (Algiers time) with its epicenter located three kilometers north of Zeboudja in the province of Chlef, west of the Algerian capital on the Mediterranean coast.
The Algerian Civil Defense Authority has reported no casualties or significant damage across the province’s municipalities.
