The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has granted Morocco’s U-20 Women’s Football Team direct entry to the second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, bypassing the first round.
Morocco’s U-20 team will face the winner of the match between Gambia and Cote d’Ivoire in the second round, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced in a press release on Thursday.
The first leg will be played away, with the return leg in Morocco.
If Morocco qualifies for the third round, it will face the winner of the match between Mali and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), according to the CAF draw held Thursday in Cairo, Egypt.
The FRMF also stated that if Morocco advances to the fourth and final round, the team will play the winner of the Egypt vs. Equatorial Guinea match, as well as the winner of the Benin vs. Guinea match.
The World Cup will take place in Poland on August 2026, with four African teams representing the continent.
