Morocco’s kickboxing team won seven medals, including three golds, at the African Kickboxing Championships held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from December 9 to 12.
Marouane Diouri took the gold in the under-75 kg category, defeating Algeria’s Hamdane Mohamed, while Meriem El Moubarik beat Fadwa Krilouf in the under-52 kg final. Hamza Sabri won gold in the under-71 kg by beating Senegal’s Dialo Ibrahima.
Douaa Akhlouf (-60 kg), Soumia Tlaoui (-70 kg), and Abdelkerim El Amrani (+91 kg) earned silver medals, while Adam Bahja took the bronze in the under-63.5 kg.
Diouri and El Moubarik also earned spots at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China.
The Moroccan Kickboxing Federation commended the team’s remarkable achievement.
