President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, has confirmed that Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat will reopen in March 2024.
Speaking during a radio interview, Lekjaa said that renovation work is progressing smoothly and under close oversight to meet the highest international standards. The project is part of Morocco’s preparations for major sports events, and to host Morocco’s national team.
Looking toward 2030, Lekjaa outlined Morocco’s ambition to become a regional leader, particularly in light of its World Cup aspirations. He credited King Mohammed VI as he initiated the nation’s long-term plan, 25 years ago to strengthen Morocco across sectors.
“Tangible progress is evident in infrastructure and human capital development both domestically and globally,” Lekjaa said. “With 12 centuries of history, Morocco’s resilience and rich heritage fuel its continued growth.”
