President of the Court of Auditors Zineb El Adaoui, met with Hussam bin Abdulohsen Alangari, President of the General Court of Audit of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday in Rabat to strengthen cooperation in auditing.
El Adaoui told Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP), that the meeting was part of the strong institutional cooperation between Morocco and Saudi Arabia, reflecting the close brotherly ties between the two countries. She noted that the meeting was on “a draft agreement that will be developed and finalized for signing in Riyadh.”
The Moroccan official added the talks also focused on the strategic direction of institutions in terms of strengthening bilateral and international cooperation in auditing and explored ways to enhance integration between the leadership of international auditing organizations.
She further highlighted that the potential for valuing and sustaining the partnership between the two institutions is enhanced by Saudi Arabia’s current role as the second vice-president of the “International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions” (INTOSAI), as well as its presidency of the “Arab Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions” (ARABOSAI).
Morocco leads the secretariat of both the “African Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions” (AFROSAI) and the “International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions with Judicial Mandates” (JUROSAI).
Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Alangari welcomed the leadership role played by the Court of Auditors in Morocco, expressing his desire to further strengthen the partnership between the two institutions, particularly in areas such as digital transformation, training, and knowledge and technical exchanges. He noted that these efforts would contribute to developing institutional capacities and improving auditing performance.
Bin Abdulmohsen Alangari also commended “the high level of the Court of Auditors in terms of technical capabilities, digital transformation, and the expertise within the institution, as well as its leadership in managing operations.”
