Ericsson recently concluded its four-day Technology Days event in Morocco, which took place in Rabat and Casablanca and ended on December 6. The event brought together a diverse group of telecom stakeholders, including customers, regulators, operators, industry partners, and media, to explore the transformative role of 5G in Morocco’s digital future.
During the event, Ericsson showcased cutting-edge applications such as immersive sports fan engagement, network performance enhancement using Artificial Intelligence (AI), and 5G monetization strategies, including network slicing and Network Exposure.
Discussions highlighted how 5G can revolutionize sectors across Moroccan society. For instance, in sports, 5G is expected to enable interactive fan experiences and improve the streaming capabilities of live events.
Communication service providers (CSPs) also examined how AI and cognitive software tools could enhance network performance through advanced automation and optimization techniques.
The November 2024 Ericsson Mobility Report, presented during the event, underscored the growing importance of 5G in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. According to the report, mobile subscriptions in the region are projected to reach 830 million by 2030, with 5G accounting for 500 million, or 60%, of total subscriptions.
Through discussions and demonstrations, Technology Days is a pivotal platform for advancing the understanding of how 5G can drive digital transformation in Morocco, unlocking new opportunities for businesses, industries, and consumers alike.
