The President of Morocco’s House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, left on Monday morning for a working visit to Slovenia.
Invited by the Speaker of Slovenia’s National Assembly, Urška Klakočar Zupančič, Alami seeks to deepen the relationship between the two countries’ legislative bodies.
During the visit, Alami will engage in several high-level parliamentary meetings to discuss Morocco’s key initiatives under the leadership of King Mohammed VI. The discussions will focus on enhancing bilateral parliamentary ties, fostering dialogue, and strengthening coordination in regional and international parliamentary forums.
The parliamentary leaders of both countries plan to address matters involving mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity while contributing to global peace and security. Parliamentary institutions from both countries will also explore venues to bolster their roles in promoting international stability.
The visit builds on the groundwork laid in November 2022 when Speaker Klakočar Zupančič visited Morocco. Her trip culminated in a memorandum of understanding to reinforce cooperation between the two parliaments.
The MOU outlined goals to deepen friendship, boost mutual understanding, and encourage high-level parliamentary exchanges, including visits from friendship groups and legislative members. The memorandum also set as a priority information sharing and collaboration on mutual interests.
