Six Turkish soldiers were killed on Monday when two military helicopters collided during a training exercise in the southwestern province of Isparta, Türkiye, local media reported.
“Two helicopters collided mid-flight, and one of them crashed,” provincial Governor Abdullah Erin said in an interview with “TRT Haber” network.
Initially, both Erin and the Ministry of Defense confirmed five fatalities, but the toll was later revised to six after one of the injured soldiers succumbed to their wounds in the hospital.
The second helicopter managed to land safely. The cause of the crash remains unknown.
