Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Morocco’s flagship carrier, launched its new direct flight route connecting Casablanca to Toronto on Sunday, Morocco’s News Agency (MAP) reported.
The inaugural flight departed Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport at 4:45 p.m. local time, carrying 204 passengers, according to the airline. The first return flight from Toronto, on the same day, accommodated about 275 travelers, bringing the total number of passengers on the two inaugural flights to nearly 480.
The new route offers three weekly flights on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Flights leave Casablanca at 4:45 p.m. local time and arrive in Toronto at 7:25 p.m. local time.
The return flight leaves Toronto at 9:30 p.m. local time and arrives in Casablanca at 10:50 a.m. the next day.
The Casablanca-Toronto connection meets a long-standing demand from the Moroccan diaspora in Canada and complements the Casablanca-Montreal route, operational since 1975.
The initiative aligns with RAM’s 2023 development plan signed with the Moroccan government.
