Moroccan international player Achraf Hakimi, the Paris Saint-Germain star, claimed the 2024 Golden Lion Award, a prestigious honor held by Al-Mountakhab newspaper, with votes from 41 media outlets, including journalists and sports experts.
Hakimi became the second Moroccan to win the African Golden Lion Award, following goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, recognizing his exceptional performances for both the Moroccan national team and Paris Saint-Germain.
He claimed the award with 162 points, outpacing Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman of Atalanta, who secured second place with 96 points.
Moroccan striker Soufiane Rahimi, playing for Al-Ain in the UAE, secured third place with 90 points.
