The Moroccan kickboxing team will compete in the African Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa, from December 9 to 12, which serves as a qualifier for the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China.
The Moroccan delegation includes top athletes across various weight categories. The women’s team features Meriem El Moubarik in the under 52 kg category, Douaa Akhlouf in the under 60 kg category, and Soumia Tlaoui competing in the under 70 kg category.
The men’s team is comprised of Adam Bahja (under 63.5 kg), Hamza Sabri (under 71 kg), Marouane Diouri (under 75 kg), and Abdelkerim El Amrani (over 91 kg).
The Royal Moroccan Federation of Kickboxing and Muay Thai announced that all athletes will compete in the K-1 discipline. Technical preparation is under the guidance of National Teams Director Lahcen Wassou, with coach Mounsef Bouras assisting.
Morocco will be represented on the judging panel, with Mustapha Ghanam, a member of the African Kickboxing Federation’s board, appointed head ring referee and general supervisor of referees for the championship.
