The Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) is bringing together 41 young leaders from 22 countries across four continents at its 2024 Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leaders (ADEL) program that is being held from December 8 to 11 at its headquarters in Morocco’s Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
The ADEL program, held as part of the annual Atlantic Dialogues international conference, selects young professionals aged 25 to 35 who are working in diverse areas such as politics, business, finance, media, civil society, and academia to participate through a rigorous selection process, PCNS said in a press release.
The process evaluates their leadership potential, initiative, and vision for their capacity to contribute to transAtlantic relations and global challenges.
This year, 41 emerging leaders, representing 74 nationalities, mostly from Africa and the Americas, will benefit from seminars, workshops, and mentoring, to enhance their leadership skills, strategic thinking, and decision-making.
One of the key features of the ADEL program is its commitment to fostering collaboration and understanding between the Global North and South. By integrating participants into the broader Atlantic Dialogues conference, the program provides them with an exclusive platform to engage with established decision-makers and contribute to ongoing discussions on regional and global issues.
This year, the program focuses on the Atlantic basin and Africa, offering participants a unique perspective on both regions’ challenges and opportunities.
The 2024 cohort includes 22 women and 19 men hailing from Africa, Europe, North and South America, and Asia.
A significant portion of the group comes from civil society and international organizations, with representation across various sectors including government, academia, and the private sector.
Notable participants include Amandla Ndisi from Kenya, a Foreign Service Officer; Natalie Delille from the USA, a Global Social Impact leader at Visa; Alexander Parsalidis from Canada, a Trade Policy Analyst; Eduarda Zoghbi from Brazil, a Climate and Energy Specialist; and Sauradeep Bag from India, an Associate Fellow at the Observer Research Foundation.
Throughout the program, participants will refine their leadership skills, explore sustainable public policies, and learn to leverage the power of networking. The ADEL program also builds community by offering opportunities to contribute to PCNS publications and events year-round.
The annual Atlantic Dialogues conference is intended to promote intergenerational dialogue, collaboration, and mutual understanding across the Atlantic and beyond.
