The Moroccan-American Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange (MACECE) held a study day in Casablanca on Thursday, bringing together Moroccan alumni of the Fulbright Program to foster professional development, collaboration, and networking opportunities, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
The event entitled, “Fulbright Futures: Empowering Alumni, Driving Change” welcomed over 60 participants, including Fulbright study grant and joint supervision program graduates pursuing master’s or PhD studies.
In a statement to MAP, Executive Director of Fulbright Morocco Rebecca Geffner defined MACECE as “a binational initiative co-financed by the US and Moroccan governments. Its mission is to promote greater mutual understanding between the two nations.”
There are 14 exchange programs for Moroccans who wish to study, conduct research, or enhance their skills in the US, she added, “as well as for Americans pursuing similar goals in Morocco.”
Geffner highlighted that the event brought together Moroccan alumni from the past five years to share their US experiences and discuss the next steps in their Fulbright journey.
She explained that the event allows alumni to acquire “tangible insights into the Moroccan job market.”
The Fulbright exchange program is the most popular of its kind. Participating alumni are often highly sought after in the Moroccan job market based.
