Spain’s Secretary of State for Migration, Pilar Cancela Rodríguez, commended the “close cooperation” with Morocco in managing migration flows on Wednesday in Madrid, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
During a press briefing on Spain’s newly reformed migration law, Rodríguez highlighted the strong relationship between the two countries, built on historical and cultural connections, good neighborly relations, and “exemplary” collaboration in managing human mobility.
Rodríguez noted that Morocco and Spain collaborated on multiple migration projects, reaffirming their commitment to continuing these efforts.
She acknowledged the importance of regular meetings between the two countries within the Permanent Joint Migration Group, which allows for assessing progress in managing migration flows.
