Morocco’s Princess Lalla Hasnaa and Qatar’s Sheikha Al Mayassa Bint Hamad Al-Thani presided over a Moroccan Caftan Fashion Show at Dar Al Maghreb in Doha on Wednesday, celebrating the artistic creativity of Moroccan haute couture, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
Held as part of the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Cultural Year, the show featured collections by ten Moroccan caftan designers. Inspired by Al-Ghazal poetry and Arabic calligraphy, their creations blended tradition and modernity. Participating designers included Amina Benmoussa, Yasmina Benyahya, Frédérique Birkemeyer, Myriam Bouafi, Maison Sara Chraïbi, Najlae Diouri, Zineb Joundy, Fouzia Naciri, Albert Oiknine and Houda Serbouti.
Princess Lalla Hasnaa and Sheikha Al Mayassa met with the designers and posed for a commemorative photo during the ceremony, which also featured musical performances showcasing Morocco’s diverse musical heritage.
Foreign ambassadors and prominent figures from art, culture, and business attended the showcase, highlighting the enduring ties between Morocco and Qatar.
