Russia has emerged as the leading supplier of wheat to Morocco, with 650,000 metric tons having been shipped since the start of the current season, a significant increase compared to the same period last year, according to Eduard Zernin, Chairperson of the Union of Grain Exporters, in a recent interview with TASS.
Zernin said, “Our key markets are primarily in the Middle East and Africa. Morocco, as the jewel of the region, has become one of our priority markets for wheat exports.”
The Chairperson of the Union of Grain Exporters said that as of the period July to October of the current 2024-2025 season, Morocco has joined the ranks of the top ten wheat buyers.
The development underscores the growing importance of Morocco as a key market for Russian wheat, reflecting the expanding trade relations between the two nations.
