The Moroccan team, NexTech, won the gold medal at the World Robot Olympiad Finals, held in Izmir, Turkey, from November 28 to 30, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
NexTech secured fourth place globally in the Future Innovators Senior category, competing against more than 400 teams from 90 countries. The competition showcases technological innovation and advancements in robotics.
The Loop Science and Technology Association, Morocco’s national partner of the International World Robot Olympiad Association, attributed this success to the team’s outstanding journey, which included qualification through national rounds involving 65 Moroccan teams.
“The achievement is a great source of pride for Morocco and strengthens its global position in the technological field,” the association stated. “It also motivates Moroccan youth to pursue innovation and science, particularly in technology and robotics.”
The World Robot Olympiad is an international competition promoting creativity and problem-solving among youth aged 8 to 19. Participants develop innovative and sustainable technological solutions through hands-on learning.
