The official page of the International Federation of Football (FIFA) commemorated on Sunday the second anniversary of Morocco’s remarkable performance during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Through its official Facebook page, FIFA shared a video of Morocco’s goals against Canada in the third group-stage match—a victory that secured the Atlas Lions a spot in the tournament’s 16th round.
The Moroccan team players delivered an extraordinary performance throughout the World Cup, finishing at the top of their group, which included Canada, Belgium, and Croatia. They surprised the football world by eliminating professional teams such as Spain in round 16 and Portugal in the quarter-finals.
With this unprecedented achievement, Morocco became the first African and Arab country to reach the semi-finals, securing a fourth-place finish worldwide in the FIFA rankings.
The commemoration celebrates not just a milestone in Moroccan football but also a moment of pride for Moroccans and fans around the world.
