Prince Moulay Rachid presided over a royal dinner hosted by King Mohammed VI on Saturday, marking the opening of the 21st Marrakech International Film Festival at El Badi Palace, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
Accompanied by Princess Lalla Oum Keltoum, Prince Moulay Rachid was welcomed with a ceremonial performance by the Auxiliary Forces before meeting a delegation of Moroccan officials.
Among the attendees were Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance; Fatima-Ezzahra El Mansouri, Minister of National Territory Planning and President of the Marrakech Commune; Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy; and Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication.
Senior members of the festival’s organizing team also greeted the royals, including Faïçal Laraïchi, Vice President of the Film Foundation; Mélita Toscan Du Plantier, Advisor to the President; and Rémi Bonhomme, Artistic Director, alongside other key officials.
Prince Moulay Rachid and Princess Lalla Oum Keltoum later proceeded to the VIP lounge, where they met the jury for this year’s festival, international film stars, and national and international partners.
