Bob Dryar, the ex-member and drummer of My Chemical Romance died on Tuesday at the age of 44 at his home in Tennessee, international media reported. My Chemical Romance is an American rock band best known for its influence on the emo and alt-rock scene in the mid-2000s.
The cause of death is still unknown, reports said.
During his time with MCR from 2004 to 2010, Dryar was an inspirational figure in the rock scene, best known for his work on the critically acclaimed album “The Black Parade.”
In 2006, Dryar suffered third-degree burns in an accident on a music video set, and his injuries failed to heal properly, leading to infections.
The following year, wrist problems further hampered his recovery. Two years later, he left MCR, a “painful decision” for the band and the end of his tenure as the band’s longest-serving drummer.
In 2021, Dryar retired from the music industry and donated the band’s memorabilia to support animal charities.
