Morocco’s National Library in Rabat hosted the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Friday, reaffirming the Kingdom’s support for the Palestinian cause, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
Palestine’s Ambassador to Morocco, Jamal Al Shobaki, highlighted the event’s significance in reiterating the “inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.” He commended the Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency, led by King Mohammed VI, for its consistent support of East Jerusalem residents and Palestinians.
Al Shobaki acknowledged the agency’s contributions to education, healthcare, employment, and preserving East Jerusalem’s cultural heritage.
Sheikh Niang, Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, shared a letter from King Mohammed V, reaffirming Morocco’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.
The event featured a documentary showcasing the challenges faced by Palestinians under occupation, including the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed annually on November 29, was established by United Nations General Assembly Resolution 32/40B in 1977 as a global symbol of solidarity with the Palestinian people.
