Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit reaffirmed his nation’s strong support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its Sahara during talks held in Rabat on Thursday.
Skerrit also backed Morocco’s Autonomy Plan, describing it as the “only credible, serious, and realistic” solution to resolve the regional dispute.
In a press statement following his meeting with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita, Skerrit said his country admires the growing international consensus around the Moroccan initiative.
“We commend the momentum and increasing international alignment, led by King Mohammed VI, in favor of Morocco’s Autonomy Plan and the Kingdom’s sovereignty over its Sahara,” Skerrit stated.
Skerrit further commended King Mohammed VI’s vision for robust South-South collaboration, highlighting its effectiveness and solidarity in addressing shared challenges
The discussions between Skerrit and Bourita focused on strengthening bilateral ties between Morocco and the Commonwealth of Dominica. In addition, the two diplomats addressed topics of mutual interest. Both leaders reiterated their countries’ commitment to advancing cooperation and fostering stronger South-South partnerships.
As part of the visit, the two officials signed an agreement to waive visa requirements for holders of official passports from both nations.
