Morocco’s Noor Ouarzazate Solar Plant, located near Ouarzazate, won the “Best Infrastructure Development Project” award, and the Governor of the Casablanca-Settat region, Mohamed Mhidia, claimed the “Best Governor” prize of the Arab Government Excellence Prize on Thursday in Cairo, according to Morocco’s News Agency (MAP).
Morocco’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the Arab League, Mohamed Ait Ouali, received the prizes during a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Arab League Secretariat in Egypt.
The United Arab Emirates launched the Arab Government Excellence Award in 2019, in partnership with the Arab League and represented by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development.
The awards, which cover 15 categories, are divided into “institutional” and “individual” categories, to encompass all aspects of governmental work in the Arab world.
Several prominent figures, including the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the Director-General of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development, Nasser al-Qahtani attended the ceremony.
