The 21st Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM) opened on Friday with Morocco’s Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, attending along with prominent figures from the realms of cinema, art, culture, and the media.
Running until December 7, the festival launched with a grand parade featuring national and international guests and cinema icons.
The stars walked the red carpet to the cheers of the public and the flashes of photographers representing media from around the world.
This year’s festival pays tribute to late Moroccan actor Naima El Mcherqui, Canadian director and screenwriter David Cronenberg, and American actor and director Sean Penn.
