A delegation of Morocco’s Royal Armed Forces (FAR) visited the “USS Harry S. Truman” aircraft carrier as part of joint military exercises with the US forces on Monday in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Morocco’s Al Hoceima.
General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and commander of the Southern Zone, led the delegation.
Rear Admiral Sean R. Bailey, Commander of the 8th Carrier Strike Group, and Captain Dave Snowden, Commander of the USS Truman, welcomed the delegation upon their arrival, raising the Moroccan flag on the aircraft.
The visit highlighted the strong bilateral ties and military cooperation between Morocco and the US. Representatives of both countries discussed matters of shared interests and regional security.
The discussion also centered on streamlining the ability of both forces to respond to all forms of threats. Moroccan and American forces participated in joint military exercises simulating such threats, both aerial and naval, and ways to effectively thwart them.
