Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, met with Portugal’s Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel on Tuesday in Cascais, Portugal to discuss ways to strengthen Moroccan-Portuguese relations in various sectors, according to Morocco’s News Agency (MAP).
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 10th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). Bourita and Rangel commended both the dynamic and progressive bilateral ties between Morocco and Portugal.
They recognized the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation ahead of co-hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup 2030 with Spain.
The 10th UNAOC Global Forum continues in Portugal with the participation of UN Secretary-General, António Guterres; UNAOC High Representative, Miguel Ángel Moratinos; King Felipe VI of Spain, and Portugal’s President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
UNAOC brings together political, religious, business, and civil society leaders, along with representatives of international and regional organizations, to discuss key issues such as peace, security, and interfaith and intercultural dialogue.
