Morocco and Hungary reaffirmed on Wednesday their determination to deepen their bilateral partnership, aiming to achieve mutual benefits for both nations’ development.
The announcement came in a joint statement signed after a meeting in Rabat between Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.
Celebrating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties, the two ministers highlighted the “historical and excellent” nature of their bilateral relations. The officials underscored the strategic importance of their partnership and commended the momentum achieved in recent years.
Bourita and Szijjártó discussed the need to strengthen regular political consultations. They also acknowledged the progress made during high-level talks between Hungary’s Prime Minister and Morocco’s Head of Government last April in Marrakech.
The ministers pointed out the October 30 session of the 5th Joint Economic Committee in Rabat as a pivotal step in enhancing economic ties. They pointed to this meeting as a foundation for exploring new avenues of economic cooperation.
To bolster collaboration, they identified key sectors of focus, including the economy, agriculture, and food industries, among others.
Both parties commended the ongoing cooperation in scientific research and student mobility programs. The ministers also signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of health to solidify future joint initiatives.
