Moroccan police arrested a 38-year-old French national of Algerian descent in Marrakech on Monday night, according to Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP).
Authorities acted on precise intelligence from Morocco’s Intelligence Agency (DGST), the individual was arrested in the Chrifia district. He is suspected of involvement in a criminal network tied to money laundering activities.
A database check with Interpol confirmed the man was wanted under an official red notice issued at the request of France’s National Central Bureau in Paris.
The suspect remains in custody pending his transfer to the public prosecutor’s office. Morocco’s Interpol office, part of the national police (DGSN), has notified its counterpart in France to begin extradition procedures.
