Swissport International has secured a 10-year license to operate Aspire Executive Lounges in Morocco after winning a competitive tender held by the Moroccan Airport Authority (ONDA), according to Aviation Pros.
The lounges, located in key airports including Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat, and Agadir, will feature locally inspired designs and Moroccan hospitality. Swissport aims to integrate Moroccan culture with premium airport experiences, offering guests regional food, beverages, and an atmosphere reflective of Moroccan aesthetics.
David Collyer, Global Senior Vice President of Executive Lounges at Swissport, said the vision is to bring a hotel-like premium experience into airport settings, ensuring that travelers feel welcome regardless of airline or travel class.
Swissport has been active in Morocco’s aviation industry since 2012, providing ground services, executive aviation support, and centralized global operations from its office in Casablanca.
Dirk Goovaerts, CEO for Continental Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India at Swissport, highlighted the company’s growing footprint and commitment to strengthening Morocco’s position as a major aviation hub in North Africa.
Swissport expanding its popular lounge concept across Morocco furthers Morocco’s strategic importance in the aviation sector, reinforcing its local and global presence, he said.
Aspire Executive Lounges, a leading brand in airport hospitality, serves over six million guests annually across nearly 100 locations worldwide. Notable among its innovations is the “3-tier lounge” concept introduced in Newcastle, UK, in 2024, offering distinct experiences tailored to different travel classes.
