Morocco showcases its agricultural heritage at the Abu Dhabi International Food Exhibition (ADIFE), featuring 25 producer groups representing over 500 small farmers mostly run by women to build international partnerships.
This initiative running from November 26-28, organized by Agricultural Development Agency (ADA), aligns with Morocco’s “Green Generation 2020-2030” strategy, which emphasizes the promotion of local products both domestically and internationally.
The participants bring a diverse selection of over 100 products, reflecting the agricultural and cultural richness of Moroccan regions, Morocco’s Press Agency (MAP) reported.
The ADA has prepared producers for the high-profile event, arranging an intensive schedule of B2B meetings using a targeted marketing approach. The aim is to forge strategic commercial partnerships, particularly in the Middle East, and open new markets for local Moroccan produce.
The Moroccan pavilion stands out with its immersive design, featuring diverse culinary delights and vibrant cultural performances, offering a sensory journey of Moroccan heritage.
ADIFE attracts over 22,000 professional visitors and 650 exhibitors from 60 countries annually. It serves as a vital platform for networking and fostering collaboration in the food industry.
The promotion of local products is part of Morocco’s wider agricultural development initiatives. Building on the legacy of the Green Morocco Plan, the ADA has expanded efforts through collective branding like “Terroir du Maroc,” which guarantees the quality and authenticity of local goods.
Efforts to professionalize producer groups have also intensified, with new distribution channels, international missions, and online platforms such as www.terroirdumaroc.ada.gov.ma, which now supports the steady sale of over 5,000 product references from 900 cooperatives.
