Moroccan Ambassador to Rome, Youssef Balla is representing Morocco and heading its delegation at MED 2024.
The Rome MED-Mediterranean Dialogues 2024 addresses key topics, particularly the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and their impact on the Mediterranean region. It is co-sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI).
Italian President Sergio Mattarella, several high-level officials from Mediterranean countries, and representatives of international organizations, including the Secretary General of the Arab League attended the opening ceremony. Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani chaired the inaugural session.
Launched ten years ago, the Mediterranean Dialogues have become a major platform for discussing strategic issues in the broader Mediterranean region. The forum promotes high-level, open, and informal discussions involving institutional representatives, experts, analysts, and members of civil society, the economy, and the media.
The dialogues are fostering innovative ideas and strategies to create a “positive agenda” for the region, focusing on shared visions and enhanced collaboration to tackle security and socio-economic challenges.
